About Dr. Goszcz
Dr. Gabriele M. Goszcz provides her patients with personalized state of the art optometric care, convenient service and the latest eyewear fashions. Dr. Goszcz and her staff will give you and your family comprehensive vision care and we take the time to fully explain what’s going on with your eyes and explore the options that will best take care of your visual needs. We work hard to help you not only see better but look better too with the latest fashion eyewear and the newest, healthiest contact lens options.
Dr. Goszcz earned her undergraduate degree from Smith College and went on to earn a Master of Social Work degree form the Smith College School for Social Work. After a 12-year career in Psychiatric and School Social Work, Dr. Goszcz went to the New England College of Optometry in Boston. She was President of the Optometric Honor Society. She received awards for excellence and innovation for her work with homebound handicapped and geriatric patients who would otherwise be unable to receive much-needed eye care. Dr. Goszcz has been practicing Optometry at her present location since 1989.
Dr. Goszcz’s dual Social Work and Optometric education and careers give her a unique perspective on the care of special needs children and adults.
Dr. Goszcz has been a lecturer at the New England College of Optometry since 1996. Her commitment to the community is evidenced in her involvement with local groups. She has served on the Auburn Senior Center Board of Directors, Auburn Youth and Family Services Advisory Board, and provides eye examinations free of charge through the Vision USA Program designed for needy families without insurance. Dr. Goszcz has been involved with VOSH (Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity) providing eyecare to Mayan Indians in the Yucatan where medical services are often nonexistent.
Dr. Goszcz is married to Douglas Crawford and together they share the hobbies of beekeeping and ballroom dancing. She is the very proud mother of two grown sons, Raphael and Christopher Crawford. Raphael is married and lives near Philadelphia. Christopher is studying to become an Optometrist.
